Advancement at The Furness |
The latest recruit to the ranks of The Furness Mark Lodge No 36 is Glenn Hudson. The ceremony at Barrow Masonic Hall proved an enjoyable one for not only Glenn but all present.
Ian Cottam, Glenn Hudson, Dennis Laird and John Parrott |
WM Dennis Laird, who had proposed Glenn for the order, undertook the first part of the ceremony. Ian Cottam took to the chair to deliver the middle section of ritual with John Parrott completing the advancement. It proved a pleasant surprise to Glenn that three good friends from his craft lodge played such important roles in the ceremony, it made it a little more special and personal. I can observe that the trio all played their parts well. Senior Deacon Jon Reed not only conducted Glenn through the ceremony in an outstanding fashion but also presented the working tools faultlessly. |

Mort Richardson and Geoff Waters acted as Master and Senior Overseers respectively as medical appoints prevented the post holders from attending. They proved excellent choices and they too added to the enjoyment of the evening.
Supper is enjoyed |
Following the work in the lodge room it was time for refreshment. Simple but tasty fare in the shape of soup, sandwiches and chips proved a popular choice and the food was devoured with relish.
